Shit on a shingle

I’ve come back to work today despite the fact that I actually feel worse than I did yesterday, and now they’re doing construction somewhere in the building using hammers and drills which may as well be pounding/creating holes in my head for all it’s helping my headache and weariness. My throat hurts more; my joints feel like they’re being held together with rubber bands about to snap. Continue reading

If only…

I called in sick to work today. After a couple hours in and out of the bathroom last night due to something I ate, I decided I really need to give my body a rest. After all, I’m already breaking it down due to stress and hauling thirty pounds of gear around everywhere. I figure that by staying home, I’ll get some rest and I’ll have one day without having to pack up half my desk, drag it to Continue reading

Drug cocktail

My head is swimming pretty bad right now, and I can barely breathe, but I’ll try to type this with a minimum of typos. So far this morning I’ve been at the office for about forty minutes and I’ve taken the following drugs/vitamins: Viactiv, Aleve, One-A-Day, Benadryl, and Tylenol (x2). The reason for this drug overdose? Well, the first three I take everyday since they’re vitamins and the Aleve’s Continue reading

Hooah!

Well, I seem to have gotten some of my brain cells back from this afternoon’s writing marathon, at least enough to be able to spend the better part of this evening typing up chapter three and an additional appendix. Woot! Chapter three is practically done; I just want to do some cleaning up tomorrow and get some page numbers from an article sitting on my desk in the office. I should be Continue reading

Thesising #4

Chapter two is going out to the committee this afternoon. Technically, it could use more work, but that’s where the committee comes in. They look at it, they mark it up and tell me to “do it better!” Now it’s chapter three time. I’ve pretty much just got this week to get it all together and turned in to my committee, so I’m going to have to forgo just about everything. Luckily, it has been slow Continue reading

Thesising #3

No new content yesterday. Between the grey, dismal weather, cramps, headaches, and the phone constantly ringing, I really didn’t get any thesis work done here at the office, and when I got home, my brain still wasn’t cooperating. I forwent thesis work for crafting in EQ, something I really need to put a hold on because I’m not leveling at all, just making stuff which fills up my bank accounts. Continue reading

What will they come up with next?

What sort of technocological adfantges hoobyjoobs will they come up with next? Lookit! It’s Gahooyoogle!!! And um, the spelling crazy is from lack of brain cells and lots of silly inside jokes with Holly about not being able to speak right, like saying stuff like “tumescence” wrong and “redding wing” and stuff like that. Bleah. Go Gahooyoogle something! Make it your new pick-up Continue reading

Oggy knees

Well, after some bank-organizing in EQ, tire-filling at the Marathon on 7th and Hulman, grocery-shopping at Wal-mart, and shower-taking here at home, I finally got down on my knees and started bowing to the Thesis Deity. Actually, when I’m at home working on the thesis, I am sort of on my knees since this is an ergonomic chair and it has that kneeler on the front so I can sit up Continue reading

Is it Fish Friday yet?

It’s odd–for the past couple weeks, I was exhausted as heck but was doing a very good job of getting new content typed up for the thesis. I mean, I tripled the number of pages I’d had within a week or so. That’s pretty productive for someone who could pass out at a moment’s notice. Now that I have some energy and actually feel awake most of the time, I haven’t felt that productive Continue reading

Peanut butter jelly time!

It’s picture time, really. No peanut butter jelly, sorry. At any rate, I got my blooming teas and made one tonight. I took pics, as requested and they follow along with a pic of my desk here at home so you can see that it’s at least semi-clean for now. The long rows and piles of books are on the right, but I don’t suppose those are visible. I’ve also included a fourth pic, which I’ll explain in a Continue reading
