The sky

I know we don't live in the Matrix, but have you ever looked up at the sky and felt that it was really just a very large piece of construction paper held up behind the horizon? No real texture to speak of, no real variation of color; just a solid piece of bland blue that you could touch if only you could walk far enough to get to it. Even now that it's thunderstorming on and off, I can look out one window and just see construction paper grey as if my window were merely covered in it. Weird. Then again, maybe I just have an overactive imagination.

You know, the concept escapes me. I understand where you're coming from, but I have a problem accepting the concept of gravity. My beliefs of astral planes and other dimensions make it impossible for me to comprehend how a little thing like gravity keeps this place where it is. Then again, you should ask me about my conception of time and eternity. :)

...the world just sucks. As for the sky, it always reminds me of being in a planetarium. The ceiling looks like open sky when the projector thingie is running, and you get the illusion that you're really seeing open space. But it's just a wall. Like in the "Planet Jackers" episode of Zim, where they put a shell around the Earth with lots of TV screens on it.
