I figure the husband will eventually talk about this weekend and his grandma's 90th birthday party, so I'll just go back to Friday afternoon because it has much more influence over the next several weeks than the party. Friday afternoon I had a few students in and out of the office.

There's no one scheduled to come to Sycamore Advantage for Open Preference today, so that means I get my morning back to check my e-mail (which I haven't checked in about a week) and to clean my desk. Things got pretty hectic last week and I started just putting things anywhere like I do at home.

But I think that it's going to have to wait a while. I have had a pile of irritation today (well, technically, for the past couple weeks) and really want to gripe about it, but there's supposed to be a meeting right now. I, being the lowly intern, will probably not be told where it is or what it is until after it's partly over.

Well, I gave the final this morning to my students bright and early at 8 am (ye gods!), and now that I'm back from lunch, it's time to finish grading them. I have finished with the multiple choice and short answers, and now all I have left are the essays.

Okay, so I got Phase I of the planner done yesterday, and I sent it off to my supervisor to look at for a while herself. The next phase will be coming up soon, but I already told her that I have to spend the day doing other work: University 101!

One in a Million [ work ]

I've been teaching at this university for about a year total, and as an open preference advisor/teacher, I get the kids who have no majors, have no idea what they want as their major, and honestly have no idea what they're doing at college in the first place. These aren't the conditionally-admitted kids, so they're generally pretty average with the occasional 4.0 in there.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm here at work today. Well, I know that I came in this morning so I could make photocopies of April's syllabus for my class then actually go to class with Susan and Heather to talk to the students about registering for fall classes.
