It started around the fourth or fifth of the month. I woke up around four in the morning with a piercing earache in my left ear. It hurt so much that my sitting up and moving around woke Ian up, which is generally hard to do. The earache coincided with the beginning of a big thunderstorm, so I figured the storm was just messing with my system since crazy weather does that to me. The Continue reading

Fun drive
So it snowed a little this morning. It probably didn’t get much over a quarter of an inch, but it was still coming down when I left for work around seven. It was pretty slippery stuff, too. The Mom-mobile actually slid a couple times while I was in town just stopping at stop signs and lights. I figured I’d take this as a sign to drive a little slower than usual…or a lot slower. I decided to really Continue reading
Cleaning!
Well, I’m going to be putzing around the house today doing a lot of odd jobs that I haven’t had time to get to before thanks to recent illness, etc. I’ve started work on getting the trash cans in peripheral rooms cleaned up (we don’t use the wastebaskets in the bedroom or living room or den much, so they don’t fill up fast but together make for a full bag), and I’m going to start Continue reading
Mom-mobile
Have I mentioned yet that I got the minivan back? Actually, it’s been a week since Damien and the husband ran up to the Haute to get the van, but I just kept forgetting to post about it. I thought about taking a picture of her and posting it just because I’m so happy to have my van back, even if she is covered in pollen and dust from being parked in the backyard of our old place for like six Continue reading
I’s stupie
Being sick when you’re me is fascinating. First of all, the higher the fever, the less my brain functions. For instance, about 10% of all my daily conversations are pointless, random drivvel (though some would bump that number up to closer to 30% or even 50%). When I have a fever, the percentage of craziness jumps up to about 75% to 90%. Really high fevers bump it up to Continue reading
Getting older
Well, I’m officially 28 today. I’ve been telling people I’m 28 since March when the husband hit 28 despite the fact that I still had another 9 months to go. I’ve just gotten lazy with the whole age thing and figure that since Ian and I are about the same age and since I’ll turn the same age by the end of the year, I just go ahead and flip my age over to whatever’s coming up kind of early. Same Continue reading
Day of the Dent!
Happy anniversary for the dent! It’s now uh, what… Thirteen years old? Geez, been a while, eh? At any rate, it’s a dent, and uh, that’s about all I can think to say about it right now.
What long-legged birds are native to the Indiana area? Crane? Heron? Shitepokes? I dunno. All I Continue reading
Used to midnight
It’s 12:02. It’s fascinating that just a month ago, seeing midnight roll by was common and expected. Going to bed before then was odd and rare. After all, I’m a night owl, not a morning shithead. Mornings suck. I wouldn’t still be up now if it weren’t for the ever-large stack of papers to grade. I haven’t even touched lesson plans, and I may not get a chance to do so tomorrow Continue reading
Postin’ Time
Woo, so I now have Intarnet Tubes running into my room and computer which means I’ll be more likely to get on-line and post and what-nots. I’ve been trying to catch up on comics but got through the first column only and am too braindead to try and finish the rest tonight. Besides, I’ve got lesson plans to write for four classes tomorrow. I did get lesson plans for my two English Continue reading
RINGWALDS!!
The wedding was fun Saturday! I was happy to see so many family members and to get to talk to so many that I haven’t seen in so long. I was even more thrilled that Ian could be there for this wedding since he hasn’t been to the past couple. He got to meet and see many Ringwalds he’d only heard about. In the spirit of Ringwaldness, I wrote down a list of all the Ringwalds I saw Continue reading
