I ended up spending two and a half hours on the phone yesterday afternoon, meaning I left work about an hour and a half later than usual at around six o’clock. After a point, I just start sounding like a recording–a very cheery and retarded recording. I hate forcing “cheer” into my voice. I grumbled something about this after hanging up the phone, and Susan down the hall shouted, “You Continue reading

Dunno if anyone’s noticed…
I guess I’ve been missing a bit from the webpage. Not too big of a deal; half my posts blather about advising or the thesis and this one’s not likely to be much different. I have about a half a dozen projects lined up and just waiting to be finished here on the site, the thesis has got to be done by March 1, so my workdays have been spent bouncing between it and the students Continue reading
Happy birthday, Greg!

The Undead
I don’t know how many of you out there are the “I’m sick and am therefore delusional” types, but I am. When I get a fever or somehing other that lands me in bed with some NyQuil or whatever, I get rambly, about fifty times more than usual, and I get very delusional. Things that normally would never make sense, not even to me, start making sense in very clear and logical ways. I believe it’s Continue reading
Tuesday?
It never ceases to amaze me how having a day off of work during a week can hinder my already tenuous grasp on the calendar and on time more generally. Of course, the added fact that I spent the better part of my weekend in a game which induces a freeze on the higher brain functions probably didn’t help. At any rate, I’m back at work, trying desperately to figure out what I should Continue reading
Ooh exciting!
I recently joined the TeaChef part of Adagio’s site, and last month’s tea to use in cooking was spearmint. Because of the holidays, I really didn’t have a lot of time to think about recipes or cooking or anything like that, but I finally came up with a fairly simple idea: spearmint hot Continue reading
A longer week
I worked the 23rd of December until 4:30 and used the rest of the evening wrapping presents and getting ready for eventual traveling to LGT. The 24th was spent driving, dropping presents off at the Ringwalds and Doyles, hanging out with family and trying to figure out what was going on for the next couple days. The 25th finally arrived and so did present-opening, first at the Ringwalds Continue reading
Random updates
K, before I forget to post again, just some random updating. My leg ceased its inexplicable stabbing pains as quickly as it had started. Yesterday I got up and there was nothing wrong with it. Damned body. It’s so ineffectual and broken and all that. Oh well, at least I’m not currently in any pain though with as flaky as the weather has been, I may very well end up there before too long.
New discovery
We all know I’m addicted to tea, and we all know I’m likewise addicted to Adagio because they are my dealers. I was playing around on their site and decided to click some of their other links and came across an entire page devoted to cooking with tea! What an interesting idea! I’m going to spend some time looking through recipes to get an idea for how to use tea while cooking, but Continue reading
Weeeeeeeekend stuff
Whee! K, I wanna just ramble this off fast, but I doubt it’ll happen. I wanna work on something else soon but I wanna update too, so here goes! Friday was, as many of you figured it out, my birthday. I became 26, which isn’t really a huge deal, but it’s a year older than I was last year. My officemate did an awesome job of decorating the office with streamers, balloons and confetti Continue reading
