Meh bleh blah

I don’t really have much to write about right now. Sure, I could go on about all the errands I’m running around today. I could talk about the weather, I guess. That’s a staple for small talk. I could talk about the diet and how I’m trying to stick to it, you know, doing baby steps for right now rather than plunge in with both feet at once. There’s always the thesis, but you know, I’m at a point Continue reading

Guest art submissions: 4

There’s still time to get art and comics to me for next week’s Guest Art week! Grab a pen or pencil or brush or mouse or scrapbooking paper or stencils or whatever and get cracking! Don’t you want to see yourselves forever deified in electrons on Writing in Green? 😉 Continue reading

Keeping you posted

I’ve been more than a little exhausted the past couple days. All I want to do is sleep. But then when I sleep, I dream–long, in-depth dreams with overly complicated plots and casts and scenery–and when I dream so vividly, it’s like living another day, running the rat race all over again. That means no worthwhile rest, which in turn means more exhaustion. Yippee. Continue reading

Water on the knee

Guest Art submissions: 2

My socks are wet. So are the lower few inches of my jeans. My backpack is airing out after a good drenching during the walk across campus. The green umbrekka is unfurled beside my desk forming a protective barrier between the world and me–protective, that is, for the world. If there’s one thing the world doesn’t need right now, it’s me. Continue reading

Happy birthday, Tommy!

Submissions for Guest Art week: 1

Yup, today’s Tommy’s birthday. He’s a whopping 24 now, following the all even or all odd trend that our family strangely has. Next up is Simon in June to complete the cycle. Then we’ll all start going odd with Mom. Haha, that has some funny connotations. At any rate, happy birthday, Tommy! I hope they don’t drop an engine or parts or something on you at work. 🙂 Continue reading

Happy birthday, Ian!

Today’s the husband’s 27th birthday. I know he’s excited; he forgot it was this week until I reminded him. 😉 At any rate, if we do anything special, it will probably be ordering out. I don’t have time to go anywhere or do anything aside from the thesis, wheeeee. But I’ll make today special for him somehow–maybe I’ll be a little less crazy than usual.  …  Nah. ^-^ Continue reading

Brain cells?

It’s odd not having words. I have ideas, I have notes, I have direction, but I don’t have the words to put any of it in motion. How frustrating to have spent an entire weekend doing nothing but organizing, reading, reorganizing, shuffling, re-reorganizing, and most of all, staring at a glowing box and not touching the keyboard. I have notebooks of words. I have textbooks of words. I Continue reading

Snoooooore…

I’m finally starting to feel human again after taking yesterday off work and sleeping most of it away. The drugs help, oh yes they do. I’ve gotten feedback on the thesis from a couple of my committee members and will work to incorporate/comprehend it later. Kitty’s busy watching the birds in our backyard. I threw a lot of seed out by the tree out there to bring out performers for her show. My Continue reading

Is it Fish Friday yet?

It’s odd–for the past couple weeks, I was exhausted as heck but was doing a very good job of getting new content typed up for the thesis. I mean, I tripled the number of pages I’d had within a week or so. That’s pretty productive for someone who could pass out at a moment’s notice. Now that I have some energy and actually feel awake most of the time, I haven’t felt that productive Continue reading

Peanut butter jelly time!

It’s picture time, really. No peanut butter jelly, sorry. At any rate, I got my blooming teas and made one tonight. I took pics, as requested and they follow along with a pic of my desk here at home so you can see that it’s at least semi-clean for now. The long rows and piles of books are on the right, but I don’t suppose those are visible. I’ve also included a fourth pic, which I’ll explain in a Continue reading
