Well I must say that the presentations this morning went far more smoothly than I expected. They were a pleasant change of pace from the normal classroom activities, so the students were much more active as well. Plus, the sun’s out which means warmer temperatures and warmer responses from everyone around here. Hell, I’m even feeling less harried and frazzled than usual though I’m Continue reading

GàDcV!
I’m so happy it’s Friday. I’m going to go home, type up a worksheet for my advanced class, maybe grade through a class or two here and there just to get a few stacks of tests out of the way, and then spend the rest of the night playing Animal Crossing and watching Voltron on our comfy-ass couch. Maybe I’ll start working on the presentation I’m going to give November 15 (Dent Continue reading
Tootsie Rolls roxor
Sorry, no TKT this week unless I somehow manage to churn one out later tonight. I’ve got piles of papers and tests to grade and I’m just going to get more tomorrow after one of my classes takes their exam. I figure I have time enough to post, but I don’t have the hour or so it takes to write up a TKT (sometimes even more). Besides that, I really didn’t have a topic in mind anyway beyond Continue reading
I have a pickle!
The husband and I ordered Footers, and I got a foot-long turkey club which comes with a couple pickles. Yay, pickles! I grabbed a bunch of movies from the library on the way home tonight to watch, but I probably won’t get to them for a while. For right now, it’s Akira and and a sammich. On the way to the Mom-mobile from the library, I picked something else up: Continue reading
Busy!
Before I get into a long tirade about what all has been going on in my life, I’ll quickly give you the answers to Thursday’s TKT pop quiz:
1. [kæt] cat 2. [dɛsk] desk 3. [greɪps] grapes
4. [kəmpjutɚ] computer 5. [tɛləfoʊn] telephone 6. [su:p] soup
7. [aɪ.laɪk.tu:.i:t.lɛ.tɪs] I like to eat lettuce! Continue reading
Updating finally
Well, I’ve finally remembered to get around to updating on my life. I guess I have a couple good excuses for not having posted in a bit: grading tests, somewhat sick off and on, and some shopping, but I guess it’s more accurate to say I haven’t been posting because I’ve been playing Animal Crossing Wild World quite a bit since I got it Saturday. 🙂 I’ve already gotten one Continue reading
Sick still
Well, I’m still sick. I’ve been taking cold medicine, but I had to switch types yesterday because the pharmacy was closed, and the stuff without that sudopehedrine (sp?) just doesn’t work as well. I don’t suppose the weather’s been helping either because it has gone from hot and humid to constantly raining and cooler. Teaching while feeling sick is not easy. In fact, it sucks. I’ve slept Continue reading
Lazy Sunday evening
Ah, lazy, lazy Sunday evenings. I’m currently watching some bad old horror movies and getting things ready for my four classes tomorrow. I figure the most important thing to do tonight is work up some sort of study guide since three of my four classes are taking their first exam Wednesday, and the fourth is taking their exam Friday. I can’t seem to concentrate on lesson plans though since Continue reading
It’s official, I think
I graduate from ISU today with my Master’s in Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, emphasis French. Wow. I wonder when I’ll get my diploma thingie. I wonder when I’ll officially get the job as a French adjunct then since it was dependant upon my graduation date. The husband and I should do something special tonight, like finishing the dishes or getting the stinky trash out of Continue reading
I graduate soon!
Just a few quick things today, then I’m getting back to the syllabi I’m typing up for the four classes I’ll be teaching this fall. First off, I just realized that I officially graduate in five days! August 10 is the graduation date for summer students. I’m hopping over to my ISU account right now to make sure that I don’t owe the university anything that would keep me from graduating. After all, if I Continue reading
