Hella lot

So I was talking to Miller and Dave last night while going through all the archives of Piled Higher and Deeper, or PhD for short, and it occured to me that I didn’t really know exactly how many comics I go through in a week. After all, it took me six hours to catch up on a week and a half’s worth of comics, so that probably means I read a lot, right? Right. So at around three in the Continue reading

RCM is live!

The husband did it! He got the Random Comic Maker working! It works simply enough. On the base page, it displays the latest RCM comic that was made. Click on “Create” in the green bar to make your own. You type in your name and webpage (RCM saves both these fields), and under each panel, you write your captions. Then you can give it a title and hit “Submit.” It will save and Continue reading

Holiday Weekend Hijinx

Simon’s up for the week, and we hit the Lushbaugh’s to play games, enjoy BBQ chicken, and fireworks. We played some paper telephone (to be scanned in eventually) during dinner, and afterwards we played with the random comic maker. I chose two from everyone (except Jamie who picked three comics to post) and have decided to put them up for everyone’s amusement. Continue reading

Random Comic Maker

I’ve been thinking about things that I could do with Simon when he’s up here next week, and knowing that he likes to do random creative things like drawing and writing short (silly) stories, I thought I’d try to come up with a way to create random comics so we can do some creative exercises while he’s up. I originally drew 40 pictures on 3″x3″ pieces of scrapbooking paper Continue reading

Comic archiving

Well, I just finished archiving PVP yesterday night. It didn’t take as long to archive as I thought, but then again, I was reading nearly a year every day or two, so that makes it go faster. I figure the next biggie is MegaTokyo. I’ll probably get to it soon, I guess. I really enjoy archiving not only because it’s like sitting down and reading a book (graphic novel, really) but also because it affords Continue reading

More archiving done

I just finished archiving Sluggy Freelance last night after the zombie-killing game Tom ran for us all. I finished it up around 1:30 am. Sluggy goes back to 1997, so I’ve been working on it for the past couple weeks, and now I’m finally done! Sweet! Now I think I’m going to divert my attention over to PVP or MegaTokyo, both of which have had long-standing success and therefore quite a pile- Continue reading

Cross stitching!

I’ve spent the morning cross stitching here. It’s so nice to have sent Jerry off for the committee to read rather than spend the entire day working on him. I’ve had only one student in so far this morning, and I’m going to miss him. He’s withdrawing and going into the Navy. Really great guy, and I know he’ll do well in the military ’cause it’s in his family. After that, it was more cross Continue reading
