Sleep? Mwahaha!

<Giggle> It’s nearly one in the morning! Huzzah for silver alarm clocks with dome-shaped bells and glow-in-the-dark hands to tell me the time whenever I look up! Sure, I could use the clock on the computer, but that would require moving the USB mouse or opening a widget, and who wants to take that much time? I don’t–I’m working on the thesis! Continue reading

Meh bleh blah

I don’t really have much to write about right now. Sure, I could go on about all the errands I’m running around today. I could talk about the weather, I guess. That’s a staple for small talk. I could talk about the diet and how I’m trying to stick to it, you know, doing baby steps for right now rather than plunge in with both feet at once. There’s always the thesis, but you know, I’m at a point Continue reading

There’s still time to get art and comics to me for next week’s Guest Art week! Grab a pen or pencil or brush or mouse or scrapbooking paper or stencils or whatever and get cracking! Don’t you want to see yourselves forever deified in electrons on Writing in Green? 😉 Continue reading

Keeping you posted

I’ve been more than a little exhausted the past couple days. All I want to do is sleep. But then when I sleep, I dream–long, in-depth dreams with overly complicated plots and casts and scenery–and when I dream so vividly, it’s like living another day, running the rat race all over again. That means no worthwhile rest, which in turn means more exhaustion. Yippee. Continue reading

205

Before tonight, I can’t remember the last time I stepped on a scale. Maybe a year ago or two. It’s been a while. The last time I was weighed I was at about 165 or 170. It was distressing enough at the time to know I was a big fat cow, but now that I’ve gotten a bathroom scale and stepped on it, I know that I’m worse than a cow–I’m an elephant. Continue reading

Sports fans are loud

Back at work again. That seems to happen a lot, come to think of it. Heather’s out today so she can work on her papers, and she deserves a break from all this insanity anyway. So I figured it’d be quiet when I got in this morning, but noooOOOooo. I forgot that the ISU women’s basketball team is playing some big game tonight, and since 98% of the department is obsessed with them, I Continue reading

CHICKENS!

Well, I didn’t get as much done last night as I’d hoped. I really need to get it through my incredibly thick skull (It is incredibly thick–there are X-rays that prove it.) that playing movies or cartoons of any sort is just going to distract me and keep me from working to my full (albeit still small) potential. I did get some stuff cleared up and finished another couple suffixes, so that’s all good. Continue reading

Passer la nuit blanche

Guest Art submissions: 3

I’m just not going to sleep. I took off work early and after selling tickets for the SFOL Murder Mystery (which, btw, if any of you loco locals want to come, is $5 and will take place March 24th–T-shirt and prizes–tell me if you want to go) and running an errand for the same club, I took a four-hour nap. It helped with some of the pain (headache’s still here though), and now I’m Continue reading

Water on the knee

Guest Art submissions: 2

My socks are wet. So are the lower few inches of my jeans. My backpack is airing out after a good drenching during the walk across campus. The green umbrekka is unfurled beside my desk forming a protective barrier between the world and me–protective, that is, for the world. If there’s one thing the world doesn’t need right now, it’s me. Continue reading
