Well now that I’ve got Golden Snail Designs up and running on Etsy, I figured I’d take a break from making stuff for the site (this after making sixteen stitch markers that look like snails last night) and instead get back to making stuff for family. I’ve been working off and on on Katie’s blanket in between pillowcases or sewing elastic into hats. To be honest, all the squares for the parents’ blanket are finished; they just need to be sewn together, which, unfortunately, takes a while and so I really just do it in spurts. I haven’t touched the in-laws’ blanket in over a week now, and I have yet to sew Simon’s pillowcase together into an acutal case. I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to try and add teeth to it or leave it as a macabre, toothless grinning skull. This morning (or rather, early afternoon; I think I’m currently on Hawaii time, or maybe just Pacific) after my shower, I took the cat outside and started a pillowcase for Aunt Pamela whose birthday is coming up this weekend. I would still be outside with my little angel furball but she decided it was too warm and wanted back in the house for a snack and a drink. She’ll likely want to go back out here in about half an hour once she’s cooled down. Have I mentioned she’s spoiled rotten? She got an entire can (albeit a small one) of tuna for her birthday last week. Silly Kitty. At any rate, I’m in season nine of the X-files and figure I might be able to squeeze an episode in before the Girl wants back outside. So I’m taking a break from crafting by . . . crafting. Go figure.
