It’s getting close to the end of the year, and you know what that means: finals. There’s a lot I’ve got to do before the end of the year, most of it grading. Being sick for about a week really made the papers back up, and so there are piles of quizzes and homework I’ve got to get through by the end of next week. I’m actually hoping to get through most of it this weekend though I doubt I’ll get through all of it. Grading takes a lot of time, and it doesn’t help that there are so many tempting distractions: World of Warcraft, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Kitty, the husband, cleaning (OK, that’s not tempting, but it still needs to be done), and uh, well, sleep. Duh. I really would like to get more sleep, and technically, I probably need more sleep. I’m never going to get over this cold unless I get some rest. Oh well, that’s what winter break is for.
I guess the other major thing I need to do by the end of next week is writing final exams. I have two students who are taking their finals early because they are having surgery next week (YIKES!), and I’ve got a bunch of students who want study guides as well. Then there are the students who are begging for extra credit, like I haven’t already given many opportunities, but they’re desperate now that they’ve realized that not paying attention in class, not studying, and not turning in assignments when they were due is causing them to fail. Go figure. At any rate, I should try and grab something to eat and then get back to the giant stacks of papers. Whee!
Damn finals:
Let's see: I can take the band one anytime betwwen now and thrusday, college chem is at the end of the year, u.s. history I should study for, french diffently should study for, pre cal/trig I don't need to worry about too much but I should still look over it, Psych andthen english I should also look over. Yeah, at least I have a shit load of time on thursday to study or I should. Good luck over there and I hope your car is running.
Let them drown:
Tell them if they had been doing at least marginal work all semester they wouldn't need extra credit.
lol:
Very very evil. 🙂
104%:
I used to love extra credit. Especially to annoy everyone else who really needed it and I just did it because it was easy and fun to have an 104% grade.
