Used to midnight

It’s 12:02. It’s fascinating that just a month ago, seeing midnight roll by was common and expected. Going to bed before then was odd and rare. After all, I’m a night owl, not a morning shithead. Mornings suck. I wouldn’t still be up now if it weren’t for the ever-large stack of papers to grade. I haven’t even touched lesson plans, and I may not get a chance to do so tomorrow during prep because I need to ask a lot of the other teachers a lot of questions so I can finally get organized. I hate being so chaotic and disorganized, and while the students may not necessarily care (after all, if I don’t assign homework so I don’t have to grade it, they don’t have homework and that makes them happy) but I do, and I really want all this chaos and insanity to stop. I wouldn’t mind getting a chance to slow down, but that’s not likely to happen any time soon.

At least this weekend is Labor Day weekend which means an extra day, but I would really like to get ahold of Heather and work something out to where we can hang out one of those days. I keep meaning to e-mail her, but it just takes so damn long on the computers here at the house and I can’t access e-mail at work because Groupwise is down since the school’s servers are down and I can’t access Yahoo or Gmail because they’re both blocked. Moo. I’m going to see if I can’t dig up her number (I think I have it around here somewhere) so I can call her since that may work out the best. Not that I’m doing a great job with the phones around here; my cell phone’s still out of commission (and probably will be for a while until we decide what number we want) and I haven’t even gotten around to changing my voice mail message at the school yet. It’s three weeks in! Which reminds me, three-week progress reports are due Friday. Dippy. More shit to do.

OK, well while I’d love to stay and chat and check my comics (I miss my comics) I really ought to be conking out since I bet something will wake me up a few times during the night. Maybe tomorrow instead of drinking Gatorade all day (I got some to keep in the classroom to drink) I’ll go ahead and get a Mountain Dew just for the caffeine. Grooooooooggy.

    Getting Together:

If you and Ian or anyone else would like to join me, I am going to see "Halloween" this weekend. Monique is not a fan of horror movies and Greg is out of town. I am not sure of the exact day yet…Take care!
