The wedding was fun Saturday! I was happy to see so many family members and to get to talk to so many that I haven’t seen in so long. I was even more thrilled that Ian could be there for this wedding since he hasn’t been to the past couple. He got to meet and see many Ringwalds he’d only heard about. In the spirit of Ringwaldness, I wrote down a list of all the Ringwalds I saw there so I could post them so Katie could see who all was there since she couldn’t make it. So here we go!
- Aunt Marilyn
- Terry (cousin, not uncle)
- Aunt Karen
- Uncle Leo
- Joe (i.e. Dad) (and wife Mom)
- me (and the husband)
- Tommy
- Sarah (sister, not cousin) (and husband Steve)
- Simon
- Aunt Agnes (and Uncle John)
- Janet (and boyfriend Alex)
- Chuck (cousin, not uncle)
- Theresa (cousin, not aunt)
- Uncle Mike (and Aunt Paula, parents of the groom)
- Jennifer (and husband Jeremy)
- Tim (cousin, not uncle)
- Eric (groom)
- Maria
- Uncle Donald (and Aunt Beth)
- Uncle Andy
- Aunt Theresa (aunt, not cousin) (and Uncle Tim)
- Stephanie
- Jonathan
- Uncle Charlie (uncle, not cousin) (and Aunt Barb, not Grandstaff)
- Nicholas
- Caleb
- Jesse
- Christie
Also, Aunt Pamela was there since she’s just as much an aunt to Aunt Paula and Uncle Mike’s kids as our other aunts and uncles. It was fun burning things in the candles on the tables and listening to Uncle Leo’s jokes about math and the IRS and talking to Tim about Japan and generally just reminiscing about all the crazy crap we all used to do as kids. Ian and I got to catch up with everyone and even got to talk to Michelle’s (the bride) dad about her older brother Br. Joel who is in Tours, France right now in priestly training. It was great! If anyone out there is interesting in seeing more Ringwalds (i.e., the family tree), this is a great page which will help you understand the order of the fourteen (Gee, that sounds like a guild or cult, lol.) and the rest of us. It’s kind of crazy to see that Aunt Pat (the youngest of the fourteen) is almost exactly eleven years older than Katie, my older sister. Crazy! She’s closer in age to Aunt Pat than Simon! There sure are a lot of Ringwalds, and I’m happy to be one of them. This weekend was great, and I look forward to the next wedding, whoever’s it is. 🙂
Order of the Fourteen:
Lol that would be a great gult or guild or something. It would be all about fire and blowing things up like watermelons. Um… so this was the order you saw people in or something. No it can't be… or well. Ootf
Thank god there were only 14:
For everyone knows that only once there are 15 Ringwalds in a room together, the End Times and the Reign of Cthulu will begin.
The order:
The order I used was taking The Order of the Fourteen (It really is a great guild name, isn't it?) by age and then listing their kids right below them. (So just out of the fourteen we get Marilyn, Karen, Leo, Dad, Agnes, Michael, Donald, Andy, Theresa, and Charlie, missing only Jim, Barb, David, and Pat.) I could have done them totally chronologically, but this seemed to make sense to me at the time.
