Happy Independence Day! Today’s plans for me and the husband are: watch Nightmare on Elm Street movies while he plays around with learning PHP and I either play WoW or crochet or cross stitch. Kitty has made it clear she’s just interested in napping on the bed upstairs, though she may join us later. Other than those plans, we really don’t have anything on the books. I’m looking forward to a pretty boring day since we’ve been pretty busy since last Friday. Here’s a brief run-down:
Friday: We drove Lushbaugh down to LGT, picked up Simon and then did some “sight-seeing” around the county. We showed him all the schools, both Catholic churches, both of our parents’ houses, one of the stop lights (We didn’t get around to seeing the other two, not like it would have taken long.), the fire tower, jug rock, old courthouse, library and Knights of Columbus. Then we swung back by the house, grabbed Simon’s stuff and came back to the Haute. That night, we helped Mike with a cookout in the backyard which was good but could have used more vegetables. (Ian made hobo packs but half of the contents were onions and since I already have chronic heartburn, I wasn’t about to mess with them.)
Saturday: We hung out with Simon all day though that really meant listening to him play odd Japanese dating games and games where you kill food. That night, Lushbaugh and Simon set off a bunch of fireworks in the backyard with tank wars and the like.
Sunday: Again with listening to Simon’s odd video games most of the day. We played some DnD for a bit until Miller got tired, then we watched a movie.
Monday: We dragged Simon out of bed and forced him to pack up his stuff because we were already running way later than we’d intended. We drove back to LGT and hung out at my parents’ house while waiting on Mom and Aunt Pamela to get back from visiting the museum they’ve put in the old courthouse. Then we went into the Doyles and hung out with Mom, Leslie and Dad for a while before everyone turned in.
Tuesday: The husband and I got up and watched a couple movies on TV before heading into the library and K of C before leaving town. Back in the Haute, we watched some Enterprise before heading to the library so Ian could get a library card and check out books while I was tutoring. Then back home again to play around with my clarinet while Ian conked out. I finally went to bed after reading some Agatha Christie, and now here I am!
So now it’s horror movies, popcorn and Ian. I’m thinking some Kool-Aid may be in order as well. Looks like a random 4th of July, but then again, most of my days are pretty random anymore. Have a fun day!
Tonight:
I should be getting out around 10 tonight so we could do something if you want.
Hitler wants his movie back btw.
You've got internet:
Well its good to see you still have internet although I don't know if I can get a hold of you on your cell phones… O well. Have fun watching movies and stuff. O and speaking my weird games I'm finding that I really need to learn Japanese ,so when I can hear their voices but can't see them, I don't get any weird messages from it. (By the way the game is H-rated) 😉
Hyped-up Rook:
Rook got a two liter bottle of MD late yesterday and I think he drank it last night. Happy to hear that you had a good fourth.
Love, Dad
Gosh, I miss working with you!!!:
I was reading your recent entries and realized just how much I miss working with you!!! I spent my 4th watch zombie movies on the Monster Channel and kicking back with the "kids." A new couple moved in to our neighborhood. I know that I like them already. They have a Jolly Roger flag on their flag pole! Every time I drive by, I want to yell, "Oh no! Ghost Pirates!!!" Take care and let me know when you are ready for a good cheeseburger and some beer!
Glad to hear…:
… you had a good beginning to the week. It did sound busy, and like you needed the relaxing day of the Fourth.
Does LGT have a town webcam like Greg and Katie's town in Ohio had? I'd love to see one of the three traffic signals.
