Today’s the last day of finals. I give my last exam at 10, so in about an hour from now. Then it’s grade, grade, grade, grade, grade until I have to turn grades in next Tuesday. I figure I can grade exams for the three previous classes today while my last class is taking their exam, or else I’ll crochet. I’ve just discovered the fun of crocheting with a teeny tiny hook and thread. Also along the lines of crocheting, I’ve finished making one of the pillows for Katie’s kids (Kyle’s, to be exact), zipper and all. The zipper was probably one of the more irritating things to put in, but I think the next one will go more smoothly. I still have one more scarf to make, two and a half more squares for the pillows to make, then I have to sew up the remaining four pillows. To say the least, I’m going to be crocheting like mad for the next two weeks or so. My students won’t care if I bring crocheting into class. It’s non-distracting and they don’t freak out when they see me sitting there with a gradebook out and a big red pen. (Actually, I grade in either pink, purple, or green, but that’s beside the illustrative point.) I’ll have plenty of time over the weekend to grade, and so long as I help the husband out with the dishes, he has agreed to help grade the multiple choice, matching, and true/false sections since those require no knowledge of French. <Sigh> If only Simon were here. I could convince him to grade some of the tests with me. 😉 Speaking of Simon, I’ve already gotten his Christmas gift; I just have to think of an obnoxious way to wrap it. I’m thinking duct tape and packing peanuts. ^_^ That’s something else I can consider while I’m sitting at a desk for two hours while my students drum away at their final exam. Actually, I have yet to wrap any of the gifts so far. Then again, there’s still some shopping to do, so it’s not like I won’t just have to do more later. At any rate, I should be heading out soon. After this Mello Yello is gone, I’m outta here and soon to be in the clear. Woohoo!
Almost forgot:
Put the last weekend in june of next year aside, that's the liveaquaria conference
gratz on getting your stuff done.
