Well, this is going to be a long couple weeks. The French Film Festival is going on now, and I’m helping out with several of the days which means I’ve got to be on campus between a quarter of seven at night until after nine. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are always long days because I teach four classes pretty much in a row (three in a row, one wimpy hour break, and then the last class) so I tend to go home on those days and just shut down or take a nap. The Knit Wits group meets Wednesdays from four until six in the afternoon, but that’s more relaxing than stressful. I’m going to have a couple really long days in there with meetings and having to be at/present at a couple of the French films and of course none of this includes all the mountains of grading that keeps piling up because it never seems to go away entirely. That’s how I’m going to spend the rest of my office hours–grading and writing up lesson plans and coming up with a rubric sheet for grading the presentations that three classes are giving tomorrow. Though for right now, I think I might go fix something to eat like a cup of soup or something and shut the door for a bit before getting back into the piles of grading. I wish it would stop being rainy and cloudy and that the stupid day star would come out. I could really use the energy right now.
Update: I just slogged my way through all the papers for one of my classes. Looks like I won’t have to stay up any later than usual to get through the rest of this mess since I have only another large stack and a couple little stacks to grade. Yippee! Now I need more caffeine.
