Busy!

Before I get into a long tirade about what all has been going on in my life, I’ll quickly give you the answers to Thursday’s TKT pop quiz:

1. [kĂŠt] cat       2. [dɛsk] desk       3. [greɪps] grapes

4. [kəmpjutɚ] computer       5. [tɛləfoʊn] telephone       6. [su:p] soup

7. [aɪ.laɪk.tu:.i:t.lɛ.tɪs] I like to eat lettuce!

Wasn’t that fun? At any rate, things were pretty busy this weekend. I say that mostly because I didn’t get much done, which tells me that I must have been doing something to prevent me from grading papers or writing up lesson plans, right? 😉 At any rate, Friday was a day off for me because it was ISU’s fall break, so the husband and I went to Wal-Mart and got cel phones and a lot of plastic, toy food (to use as examples in my French classes). Saturday, we were back at Wal-Mart because Ian wanted a Blue Tooth adapter for his phone so he can do stuff with the phone through his computer. And I picked up more plastic food. 🙂 Saturday night was DnD and lesson plan writing. We played until nearly one in the morning, and then it was unconscious time. Sunday, I got up and played ACWW for a few hours before joining Ian downstairs to watch Das Boot, a really good submarine movie. Ian recently said we didn’t have enough submarine movies, so we grabbed that one. I really like it. During the tail end of the movie, Aunt Pamela called and asked if we wanted to go to the Pioneer Days that they were having at Fowler Park just south of the Haute. I agreed, and I met her down there and we had an awesome time talking to reenactors and visiting the log cabin village there. We came back to the Haute, grabbed Ian, swung by my office so she could see it and my thesis, and then we went out to eat at Mogger’s (Damn, Ian and I love that place.) for several hours. Mogger’s was closing, so we had to leave. We went back to the apartment, talked some more and she left around 11:30. I stayed up until 3:30 this morning to write lesson plans and write/type up the exam for my 202 class this afternoon (which I just came back from). So tonight is going to consist of me running home, grabbing some laundry and running it to the laundromat, running home with the laundry so Ian will have clothes to wear to work tonight, and then grading tests and homework. After that, I’m going to try and get as much ACWW in as possible because this week is the Acorn Festival, and I want to win fabulous prizes! So there you have it. Now I’m going to put the students’ homework on-line before I go home, and then I’m out of here. Laters!

    Hehe:

Remember that squirrel at Grandma's house that always threw acorns at Dad? That was pretty funny. 🙂 Which reminds me, I need to post!
