Updating finally

Well, I’ve finally remembered to get around to updating on my life. I guess I have a couple good excuses for not having posted in a bit: grading tests, somewhat sick off and on, and some shopping, but I guess it’s more accurate to say I haven’t been posting because I’ve been playing Animal Crossing Wild World quite a bit since I got it Saturday. 🙂 I’ve already gotten one expansion on my character’s house, and now I’m fishing and selling random stuff to make enough money to pay that one off so I can get the next house expansion. I still suck at a few aspects of the game like bug-catching and interacting with the other characters, but honestly, one of the other townsmembers is a bitch and another is a complete asshole, so I don’t like talking to them. I am really excited to play it with Dad, Simon and/or Tommy since we can all connect wirelessly to each other’s cities. That will kick ass! I have a lot of pitfall seeds I’d like to bury in their cities… < Insert insidious laughter here > I am thinking that there are a few other games I’d like to get for the DS to play while I’m waiting for stuff to happen in ACWW. I’ll probably wait on those though. I should get caught up on lesson plans first. 😉

I’m still dreaming a lot. It’s odd that Katie and I would both start having vivid dreams/nightmares at the same time. She had that crazy nightmare last Sunday, the same day I had a really freaky nightmare. Last night’s dreams involved a lot of sand and a talking white mouse who wore hats and didn’t want Mom to know it was living in an interdimensional pocket behind the couch that led to Mouse-land or wherever. We had a great time talking next to a yellow Christmas tree. Yup. I’m losing it. I’d stop sleeping if I thought it would help, but I know it wouldn’t. I’ll just have to wait this out and I’ll go back to more-or-less dreamless sleep again in a while. I just hit spells like this where I’ll dream vividly for a week or so on end, feeling more drained when I wake up than before I went to bed because I’m living two lives when I dream. Pain in the ass, is what it is.

Oh well, I’m going to head home now. I’m in my office after my last class this week. Our fall break is Friday, so I don’t teach then. I still have office hours tomorrow which is when I’ll probably write up the exam for my 202 class. I also need to work up a TKT. I missed last week’s because I had that meeting about insurance and also had three tests to write in addition to a giant pile of homework to grade. So hopefully I’ll get a TKT up tomorrow. I’ve got a huge list of topics on my TKT page, after all. Talk to you later!

I live for those kinds of dreams:

I'd like to think they're windows into… somewhere. I don't know where. But I think of Douglas Adams's rule that "In an infinite universe, everything grows somewhere." If it's truly an infinite universe, then exactly what you dreamed happened, is currently happening, and will happen an infinite number of times. Somewhere else.

    It is ok.:

You can't have that many positive things about a person in one post…I think I have a rule in the comment code somewhere for that…

    Pitfalls:

You know that if you leave one buried somewhere (prefered where you aren't likely to fall into it) you don't get more pitfalls. Problem is that the animals sometimes fall into them (I was planting cherries close to where mine is buried and I hear the tell tale sound of someone falling into a pitfall). Look forward to playing together. To bad we don't have anysort of high speed internet or we could consider the WIFI option.

    Love, Dad
