Kitty has a thing for lying on my clothes. It’s probably related to how infants feel better and do better when they sleep if the parents put their own blankets and pillows in with the kid. It’s the scent that makes them feel better. Kitty really like my clothes. Sure, she’ll sit on Ian’s clothes if they’re in her way, but she goes out of her way to sleep on top of one of my T-shirts or a pair of pants. My jeans are her favorite. It must be a combination of texture and scent, though I’m not sure I’d want to sleep on something that had my ass in it all day. Kitty loves it, however, and I often humor her by laying my jeans on the bed corner or draping a T-shirt over her. She just seems happier sleeping that way.
I just went upstairs to grab a sweatshirt and a pair of socks since our first floor is pretty cold here. I looked into Kitty’s room (aka the guest room) on the way past and didn’t see her on the bed. I went into my room and didn’t see her on my dresser (another favorite place for her to sleep) or on the bed. I knew she wasn’t downstairs, so I got curious as to where the ninja assassin had wandered off to. Then I saw her on Ian’s dresser. I had left a pair of folded jeans on his dresser after doing laundry last, and she was lying on top of it like it was a cushion or mini-bed. My cute little striped furball all curled up in a ball on a folded square of my jeans. She’s so adorable! It just makes me so happy to know that she really loves me in her own little kitty way, and that she likes me and my stuff enough to make it her own (mostly by covering it in cat fur). She’s such a sweetheart. I’m going to miss her this weekend while I’m out of town. But I’ll sure have a lot of her fur to bring with me. 🙂
