Lots of random stuff going on lately. It’s all random enough that I’m not sure what order to put it all in. I’ll just start with the webpage because that’s what I was just working on. I went through and cleaned up my comics links a bit more. I wonder if it’s sad that 90% of the links on my links page are webcomics. Eh, it’s a hobby. Everyone’s gotta have a hobby. I went through my links and moved a few more comics from the ones I read to either “no longer updating,” “updating very irregularly,” or “no longer reading” columns. I find I’m weeding out a few more comics every time I go through it because after having archived quite a few, I lack the interest to keep reading some. So a bunch more bit the dust today. It’s okay, my archiving page still has loads to read through. 🙂
My feet are fairly sore. I have been enjoying the walk to and from work lately as it feels like exercise and it affords me some time to just think a while, even if half of it is about traffic and retarded store window signs (“Christian ears are around so please watch your language,” is one that pops to mind. It’s in a nail salon’s window.) or whether my legs hurt yet. But yesterday I did way more walking than the twenty minute stretch from home to work. Here’s a run-down of my running around: home to the office, office to HMSU, HMSU to office, office to Registrar’s, Registrar’s to office, office to LLL, LLL to office, office to home. It was fairly well spread out across the day, but the shoes I was wearing weren’t really the best for that much foot traffic. I stayed off my feet most of the evening except to put a patch on Ian’s pants and the couch. I’m still having fits with the stair phobia, but it seems to have at least lessened some. Sore feet and climbing stairs just sets me off worse. Dumb phobias.
Tonight’s going to be insane. At some point last week, the husband and I agreed to having DnD today rather than tomorrow, then promptly forgot until Wednesday. He doesn’t get off work until 6, and I get off work at 4:30. The gang normally starts showing up around 5 or 5:30 (when it’s on Saturdays), and since it takes me 20 minutes to walk home, I will have just gotten there when people start showing up. I really need to hit the grocery store sometime this afternoon because Ian needs sugar for tea and we also need stuff like bread and milk, not to mention the Mom-mobile’s been running on E for the past two weeks (another reason I’ve been walking in). I have to drop the rent check off today or we’ll get a late charge, but I’ll probably do that at lunch. Honestly, I think I might just take off at lunch so I can get all my errands run before everyone shows up. After all, the living room needs picked up, the laundry needs put away, the bathroom needs a bit of work, the kitchen’s just a wreck, and I’ll want to change when I get home into something more comfortable than work clothes. Fuck, I thought Fridays were supposed to be better. Eh, it happens.
Monday will be interesting. To help out one of the advisors up here, I agreed to proctor/read a standardized exam for her Monday morning from 7:30 to 11:45. It’s for a woman with a learning disability who needs to have her exams read to her. I’ve done this before here at SASC, but this will be at the Sylvan Center, and I’ll be getting paid $15 an hour. They asked if I could do it next Friday too, but I declined because Lushbaugh and I had plans to go to Wisconsin for a fish convention. Now, it’s looking like we won’t be able to go ’cause neither of us can afford it, so I’m going to suggest to him to take the Friday afternoon session so he can make $15 an hour too. The only real requirement is having a BS or BA, so he’s more than qualified. He has a loud, clear voice too. I was going to ask Jamie to do it, but she just got a new job and starts next week. Hell, I’ll ask them both, and Miller too. Why not share opportunities with my friends? They’re great. 🙂
So that’s about it for semi-major things. I sent Jerry off to the committee again after making revisions. I’ll probably go back over him again for good measure. Ian seems to be doing okay at his new job. His stories are fun to listen too. It’s almost too bad more of them don’t end up on his site, but he’s been too tired to type that long, really. It’ll get easier. And Kitty’s fine. She threw up earlier this week but I think it’s ’cause we gave her too many treats. That was fun to clean/mop up. Yay. So there you go. Have a fun weekend, and I’ll catch you later. It’s time for more NetHack.
Oh, I just remembered on the way back from the bathroom just now. I might accidentally be on the channel 10 news tonight, the local WTHI news, that is. I pass by their building on the way to work, and I saw a bunch of people standing out front talking. I didn’t see a camera or anything, so I just stayed on the sidewalk until I got closer and had to step out off the curb. That’s when I saw the camera; it was mostly blocked by the Shriners in front of it. So I might be on the news, which is pretty funny. I hope they just refilm it, personally.
Yes:
I'll take it. Give me the details tonight!
Empty:
I stopped in today to say hi to Brad and he was leaving for lunch and Debi said everyone else was out too 🙁 I was gonna leave you a note!
Hey, that's money!:
I don't think I have anything to do on Friday. Orientation is Monday-Thursday. I'll give you a call on Monday (Yeah, using PHONES is great! ack.) when I find out for sure. I'd be happy to proctor an exam for 15 bucks an hour.
But hey:
I'm also assuming there's only one, in which case, let Mike do it, because he'd have fun and I'll probably be tired. heh.
