I just finished archiving Sluggy Freelance last night after the zombie-killing game Tom ran for us all. I finished it up around 1:30 am. Sluggy goes back to 1997, so I’ve been working on it for the past couple weeks, and now I’m finally done! Sweet! Now I think I’m going to divert my attention over to PVP or MegaTokyo, both of which have had long-standing success and therefore quite a pile- up of archives to go through. PVP has been around since 1998, whereas MegaTokyo has been around since 2000. Since I went through all of Sluggy (which has been around since 1997) in just a couple weeks, PVP and MegaTokyo shouldn’t take that long, I guess. I’m looking forward to it! I love archiving. It’s like reading a book. Once I catch up with the current storyline, it’s like reading a book one page a day or every other day. Less satisfying, but still good.
On a related side-note, I’ve moved some more comics from my regular reads to my “no longer reading” pile. I haven’t enjoyed Achewood much at all, and really only archived it because it was linked on so many other sites and I wanted to see what it was about. Likewise, White Ninja was another comic which just about everyone refers to and reads, but I just can’t get into it and it is almost never funny, in my opinion. Diesel Sweeties is really close to getting kicked because I just don’t appreciate whatever sense of humor Stevens has. Half the time the comic is using poop jokes or random pop culture/indie/whatever references I just don’t get and don’t care about. If it weren’t for the occasional wry grin at the sporadic linguistically-based joke, I probably would have kicked Diesel Sweeties long ago. I know it’s a big one as far as webcomics go, and I know lots of other webartists love it, but I’m not a big fan. Give me true wit, not flippant comments or half-baked sarcasm.
So that’s my update on webcomics. I’ve been working a bit on my own lately, and hopefully I’ll have something to show for it next week. I’m thinking about making “Comics” its own button on the left once I get a fair amount of them up here. That’ll probably be a bit. For the moment though, I just got handed some work and I have some caffeine to find, so I’m gonna go do that. Happy webcomic reading!
Diesel Sweeties:
Used to be good but I think that Stevens has run out of the initial good ideas he had, if he really had any. Most of it was overt sexual humor and, like you said, subculture references. He never developed the characters and now that the jokes are getting old, it's really hard to keep reading it.
Dr. McNinja:
you should give Dr. McNinja a try.

and someone needs to forward that shit to Tom. it fairly reeks of his type of humour.
Lol:
I love this comic
yeah:
Make sure to check out the rest of the site, as well as the main comic strip. The entire site is pretty humourous (even the "about" section).
I know the comic:
You must not have checked my Archiving page (linked off my Links page) because I've already got that one listed in with the other comics I'm going to eventually get around to reading. I'm working on PVP at the moment. I'll get to Dr. McNinja at some point.
