This office makes me sick

The lack of moving air and lack of sunlight is really getting to my system. I left work yesterday afternoon with a massive headache, nausea and drowsiness. I ended up taking a nap, which I was rather hoping to avoid because it messes up my already-stupid sleep schedule. The nap helped though, but I bet being in a place with circulating air and windows helped more. When I visited a troglodyte farm in France, the tour guide was talking about why the farmers dug only so far back to make homes and barns. He said (in French), “Where the light doesn’t go, the doctor and veterinarian go often.” In other words, people friggin’ need sunlight and fresh air! I was talking to Ian about it last night, and I think I’m just going to have to make it a point to leave the office for about twenty minutes every other hour or so, use that time to hit the vending machine in the building next door or out at the receptionist’s desk. Somewhere with light and moving air. I even brought a desk fan in to help keep the air around my desk moving, but it can do only so much. Stupid closet office. I can’t wait until June because we’ll be spending half our days over in the HMSU for freshman orientation, and then in July NO MORE CLOSET OFFICE because I’ll be out of a job. Hooray! Okay, well, I’ve been here for about a half an hour. Time to get up and go wash my mug and make some tea. Even the restroom has frickin’ windows.

    yeah:

That's what I did at Newport. Just take a walk every other hour and get some air and sun.

    That does help:

I got up every hour in the morning and it seemed to help, and in the afternoon I tried every other hour and that didn't work as well. I find that if I drink a whole lot of water and/or tea, I HAVE to get up at least once an hour. That helps too. 😉
