My day update

I’m taking a quickie lunch break from the thesis and figured I could add some more to the information given this morning. Lessee, I got a call from the car repair place. Fixing the electrical system will be about $100, plus a belt is rotting through and needs replaced, so there’s another $70. He also highly suggested that the Mom-mobile get a complete tune-up which will run about $290 and include stuff like spark plugs, fuel filter, and the likes. Oh, and the wiper blades need replaced. That’s $18. Ye gods.

Also, someone has their dog in here. I guess technically it could be worse because it could be a small yippy dog (my bane), but no, it’s a larger poorly-trained dog. Sometimes I wonder which is worse. Oh, and our neighbor’s dog has been getting more bold with its barking at me and generally hating my presence when I wheel my suitcase to and from the van–er, whatever vehicle I’m in and park at the back of the house. Dogs. Something I could live without forever. Not a dog person. Can you tell?

Hummus gives me really strange, bad breath. Just thought I’d let ya know and/or warn you. I can’t wait to try the garlic variety we picked up at the store the last time we went.

I’m slowly getting there with the thesis. I’m not worried about the defense; I know and really like all the people who are on my committee–I’m just worried about getting this dangblasted rickin’-frickin’ tarnated piece of blah blah blooey finished! I’ve come to the realization that I’m doing too much work, getting into too much detail and am generally spending too much time on certain suffixes, so I’m forcing myself to stop typing occasionally and remember: this is just a master’s thesis, not a book or a doctoral dissertation. Just a master’s thesis. That helps me cut back. Maybe an all-nighter or a “type till you pass-out” night is a good idea for the weekend. It’s too bad I’ll keep missing out on the EQ double experience that’s going on until the 20th, but the husband has been awesome in taking the reins of my ranger so she’ll get a little bit of leveling in there since he can’t figure out what he wants to do with his own characters. He’s wonderful. Okay, well, I’m gonna hit the head then get back to the thesis. I might actually continue my break and take a little walk to the Commons or something to get some fresh air and maybe something other than apples to snack on. Maybe some mints or gum or something to help with this diabolical breath. Hummus, indeed! Oh well, catch you all later. Thought you’d want to know what’s up.
