Well, I didn’t get as much done last night as I’d hoped. I really need to get it through my incredibly thick skull (It is incredibly thick–there are X-rays that prove it.) that playing movies or cartoons of any sort is just going to distract me and keep me from working to my full (albeit still small) potential. I did get some stuff cleared up and finished another couple suffixes, so that’s all good. Another thing I underestimated is my own neuroses because at one point during the evening, I couldn’t concentrate on anything else until after having doodled on my hand a while. Then there was something about being distracted by a pencil sharpener and a stack of tea boxes. Finally, I was yammering about chickens and was close to typing “chickens chickens chickens chickens chickens chickens” etc. into my thesis, so Ian told me to go to bed. I got about three hours of sleep last night, dammit. I guess I needed it though. Thinking about purple chickens with pencils tied to their legs and wings is not really related to the topic of my thesis, after all. So, I’m back at work with Buster and related gear and hope to get something more done today. I swung by Walgreens for caffeine (two vanilla Frappuccinos and a 20 oz. Mountain Dew) and sugar (Skittles and Starburst), so if I slip into a diabetic coma, you’ll all know why. Oh, and I brought a head of lettuce. That’s a special treat. No lettuce until five pages are written though! I consider it like dangling a carrot in front of a mule, only this is lettuce and I’m more of a jackass. It would also be harder to tie a head of lettuce to a rope, but I digress. Thesis time and caffeine time and Tori time. CHICKEN!
