It’s odd not having words. I have ideas, I have notes, I have direction, but I don’t have the words to put any of it in motion. How frustrating to have spent an entire weekend doing nothing but organizing, reading, reorganizing, shuffling, re-reorganizing, and most of all, staring at a glowing box and not touching the keyboard. I have notebooks of words. I have textbooks of words. I have dictionaries, folders, files, a desk full of words and yet none of them are in my head, none move from my fingers to the glowing box for my committee to read. No words. Just direction, notes, and ideas.
As a result of writer’s block and some heavy-duty joint/muscle pain, I forwent attempting to write for some comic archiving. 5ideways is a short read and won’t be back until March 30, but I like the art well enough despite the fact that I have little to go on concerning the plot thus far. A decent read. Order of the Stick is a must read for anyone of the Dungeons and Dragon ilk. The husband said Jer had the first comic linked once, so he already knows of the Order of the Stick’s goodness. The rest of you need to read it now because I nearly hyperventilated several times archiving it. I saw so many of my comrades mirrored there as well as my own bard-like tendencies. Good times, good times.
I have to get up early tomorrow. Because I was out pretty much all of the end of last week at work, I didn’t get some things accomplished for my class that needed to be done before tomorrow’s meeting. I need to work up a study guide for them since their midterm is Wednesday. It shouldn’t take too long–most of the material doesn’t change from semester to semester, but I want to change it up enough to keep from using all the same old material as last term. No reason for repeaters to get an easy A, right? I had originally planned on hitting the office this evening, but my shoulder suddenly started acting up so badly that I wasn’t sure I could even drive. Stupid joints and nerves and muscles and bones. Dumb human form. Irritating, irrational meat sack. Having a physical form is so obnoxious at times. At any rate, I ought to at least try and sleep if I’m going to get up early tomorrow morning.
Insult of the moment: poissarde (women only) ‘vulgar, foul-mouthed woman’
OB:
Octavia Butler died :X I was actually starting to get into her novels too
Really?:
Wow, I liked her short stories a lot…. very weird tensions in them.
