While I doubt there’s any barbeque teas out there, I am getting two new types soon. Adagio is running a Valentine’s special where you can get two blooming teas for the price of one. I’ve always wanted to try a blooming tea; they’re just pretty to look at. Of course, I might also have to get a different cup for it because I don’t know that the glass mug I have now will hold a blooming tea and let it unfurl like it’s supposed to. I’ll look into that in a while, for now, the thesis.
I worked on it off and on yesterday at work depending on how many people came into the office and how many phone calls interrupted me. Wednesday, I was handed back the phoning list and told to re-call everyone that I didn’t reach the first time, all the people marked “Busy,” “No answer” or “Answering machine.” Guess how thrilled I was to hear that? I got through some on Wednesday afternoon and was informed yesterday that if the lists weren’t done by Friday afternoon (assuming we stayed here both nights until 6), that we were to come in Saturday and finish up. Wheeeeeeee. I gotta tell ya, I hate talking on the phone, and this hour-and-a-half window in the late afternoon sucks because that’s generally when I’ve gotten going on the thesis really well. The mornings aren’t great for thesis-writing because I’m not fully awake yet and am generally spending most of that time responding to e-mails and checking webpages.
That being said, I did get some work done yesterday. It doesn’t seem like it from the thesis counter, but I did add content to both the introduction and chapter two–I moved two large paragraphs from chapter two to the introduction then deleted some parenthetical notes I’d left myself there, and I added several paragraphs to chapter two which refilled the space left from the prior editing. I’ve been trying to update my endnotes and appendix as I go as opposed to trying to go back and fill that in later, and that’s why the second number has gone up because of new content to the non-core chapters. I also burned a back-up copy of my thesis to a mini-CD because I’m the paranoid type and fear anything happening to Buster.
Speaking of Buster, last night I forwent getting him out of the backpack and setting him up on the desk by Brannagh because I decided it was too much of a hassle pulling him out and putting him up again, but I figured if Ian wanted to put Buster on his desk next to Knave to watch movies for the night, why not? I went to bed at 10:30 anyway. Of course, that means putting Buster back up in the morning and dragging him to work, but no biggie. This morning, I found the husband on the couch and was talking to him while getting ready for work then headed out. I got up to the office and reached into my backpack and pulled out a four-inch thick D-ring binder instead of Buster. Whoops. Guess that bulge wasn’t the computer. So I turned right around, got back in the mom-mobile, drove home, and grabbed the laptop because no laptop means no thesis and ohmyfuckinggoddamn would that suck ass. Hence, the paranoia and sudden decision to burn a back-up copy this morning. I don’t expect I’ll forget Buster at home very often; if I weren’t talking to the husband while getting ready, I most likely wouldn’t have forgotten. Oh well, c’est la vie. Now it’s time to go to a meeting.

Tea!:
You'll have to take pictures of your blooming tea. And maybe we can try to read your tea leaves like they did in the first Harry Potter book.
So long as we don't see the Grim…:
I've never added adverts on my page before, but I was playing on Adagio's site and came across one that looked pretty nice. I don't know that you can get a certificate if you've already gotten one or if you've got an account with them already, but for all the new users, enjoy!! Tea warms the soul. 🙂
why don't…:
Why don't you throw all your thesis stuff up on an internet exposed FTP server? That way you can always have access to it. You download the file you wish to work on, and When you've updated a file you just send the updated version to the ftp server. You could even have Ian do up a cron job to backup the files every night.
