I ended up spending two and a half hours on the phone yesterday afternoon, meaning I left work about an hour and a half later than usual at around six o’clock. After a point, I just start sounding like a recording–a very cheery and retarded recording. I hate forcing “cheer” into my voice. I grumbled something about this after hanging up the phone, and Susan down the hall shouted, “You sound sweet!” I don’t know if that was meant to comfort or mock me. No clue.
At any rate, seeing as how it’d be fairly impossible to work on the thesis or webpage or anything else while doing this phoning list, I instead doodled with four Pilot pens–on my hand. Here’s a thumbnail of my thumb; clicking on it will show you my left hand which still has some ink traces on it despite about five or six washings.

So yup, I’m back at the grind today with the usual arsenal of wires and stirrer sticks and Post-it notes. I decided to drag the camera in so you can see a little bit of the desk madness that I’ve got going here. Some days the snowfort is bigger, but today it’s smaller because I took a few folders and some books home yesterday. The thumbnail below takes you to a much, much larger view of it. If you see something odd in the pic and want more of an explanation, just mention it and I’ll try to figure out what it is that you’re looking at. It may very well just be the potatoes I nuked this morning to have for lunch. PO-TAY-TOOOOOOOOOES! Woo! Eh, a moment of passing silliness. Now back to sourness and thesisness. The plural of thesis is “theses” which rhymes with “feces” and that describes pretty well how I feel about this whole thing right now. Pfft. I go away now.

SFOL, etc.:
There's a recap of last night's meeting on the Group Page if you'd like to read it. Some good stuff happened, I suppose.
Your phone call list reminds me of my Career Expo work. Between last year's and this year's, I would estimate that I spent about 12 hours on the phone with company reps. And I'm not kidding. It gets old, doesn't it?
Good luck with your work!
