My afternoon

There are some days when my life feels more random and bizarre than usual. For instance, this afternoon, I’m sitting in my office with Buster up in front of me and some library books scattered all over the place. One is on American graffiti, another is a book about insults, and a third is on bad behavior. I’m working on typing notes up on Buster while watching old horror movies from the “Horror Classics Collection” that I got this week. The movie that was playing was “Black Dragons” with Bela Lugosi about a German agent during WW2 who went to Japan to give plastic surgery to five Japanese men to make them look like Americans so they could infiltrate the US. And then on the desktop, I was looking stuff up on Google and came across this oddity. It was the combination of all of it that just felt so random: typing up notes about insulting people while watching a strange horror movie from 1942 and reading an article about the first baby delivered with the use of ether–rather, an article dealing with that on the site that sold the baby’s deathmask. My life’s odd sometimes. Maybe I should just go put on some music and grade papers like a normal person.

    Hmmm….:

And she made "the best possible recovery"? That probably means they lobotomized her or did electroshock therapy. Have you ever heard of Stone Babies? I saw this amazing show on Discovery Health about them. It happens when ectopic pregnancies bust the fallopian tube and the babies implant outside of the uterus and are eventually calcified by the mother's body. It was fascinating.

    Bill and Ted:

Okay so my mom had the details mixed up and totally LIED to me about the Bill & Ted guy being dead.. Chris Penn is the guy that was in "Footloose" with Kevin Bacon.. the tall one that couldn't dance

Ah, Heather thought that info was wonky:

And I've never seen Footloose, so no clue as to this "tall one that couldn't dance" descriptor. I'm bad about not seeing movies, but apparently good at finding oddball websites. 🙂
