You know, sometimes I miss getting up in the morning and sitting down and having a bowl of cereal. Just sitting at a table, pouring a bowl of something sugary and then pouring milk over it, kicking my feet and reading the back of the box while waiting until time to get on the bus. I guess I could still do the bowl of cereal part if I were to get up earlier and well, actually buy some cereal and always have milk on hand, but anymore it seems my mornings just keep getting more and more frantic as I try to remember everything I need to bring to work while stepping around the cat and trying not to make so much noise that I wake the husband.
This morning, for example, things were going about as normally as they do when I started trying to find my paint sponges for this afternoon’s SFOL create-a-door session. After unsuccessfully going through two totes, a filing cabinet and a shelving unit, I was just about to give up when I discovered them underneath some laminating paper rolls. I had a lot of other stuff to toss in my backpack, and I began wondering why I didn’t do this yesterday night. Oh that’s right, I was up late working on the computer and finally had to go to bed because I got really light-headed and dizzy. Damned stress.
Of course, I walked out to the van and realized that the Ivy Tech parking tag was on the mirror and that I didn’t have my ISU one on me. I had taken it out of Ian’s car, but where had it gone? Five minutes and some annoyed searching later, I found it in the pocket of the jacket I had worn to Krogers with Ian. Dork.
I had to park in the north lot on campus because I was running so late, and one the way to my office on the far end of campus, I got to thinking about how nice it was to get up, get dressed, have some cereal, and then be chauffeured to school. Other than the chauffeuring part, most of the basic routine is the same except for the cereal. Maybe I should get a box and try to make it a point to have a bowl at least once a week before rushing off to campus. It’s an idea, and it would break the monotony of eating applesauce at my desk with my drug/vitamin cocktail. Too bad sugary cereals and oat cereals upset my stomach–I really like Lucky Charms.
Honey comb:
Honey comb isn't too sweet and it's made out of puffed rice.
You know:
You are not going to be home for hours, and cereal sounds good. I might just have some.
Ooh, rice:
I know I'm not allergic to rice. That's why corn flakes are okay too. I might have to grab a box of Honeycomb.
It's wonderful stuff:
Yeah, and Honeycomb has the same amount of calories per serving as Special K. Now, which one do you think I choose to eat? Ding ding ding!
