So I am finally sane/awake enough to introduce the latest addition to the Doyle household: GJ!

GJ stands for Gus Jr. because I already have a gargoyle on my desk named Gus. GJ is a fancy-tailed guppy, and he’s in with Cthulu to keep the snail company, and boy does he! He has taken to following the snail around or just swimming around him in circles like a pesky little brother. Sometimes I see him poking at the algae growing on Cthulu’s back. Other than paying tons of attention to the snail, he pretty much just meanders around the tank, sometimes hiding in the plants and sometimes playing on the bridge. He’s a little skittish at times, but he’s young and playful and we’re happy to have him in our strange little family. Kitty doesn’t pay a lot of attention to him, and I think it’s because he’s so small. I didn’t let her name this fish like we did Squeak because, as Ian pointed out, that’s really a one-trick pony.
GJ’s also got an interesting pattern on his tail. It was hard to get a photo of his tail since he’s constantly moving it, but it looks to me like he’s got the letters “CGI” and then the Star Trek emblem on his tail. The C is by itself but the I is butted up against the bottom of the G. I dunno; take a look and see if you see it:

I have put up an aquarium page with a lot more pictures of our fish tanks and individual shots of each of our aquarium dwellers. When I get more fish or change stuff around, I’ll try to remember to update that page with more pictures. I love my tanks! It’s easy to see how someone could get really into setting up an aquarium. I understand that Ian doesn’t get the whole fish tank experience, but he understands other people enjoying them (especially since he doesn’t have to take care of them). We’ll see if we end up with any more “kids” any time soon. 😉
As a side note, on the pictures page, I have also put up a bunch of hilarious pictures I got from Engrish.com. Hilarious stuff. If you’ve got some time to kill, go laugh your ass off a while; it’s great stuff.
Nice Fish:
I need to go to image shack and start documenting my new aquarium next month.
That's an awesome idea!:
You could take pics of the various stages of your tank so we can see the evolution from live rock and water to a mini-ecosystem! It'd be great!
Congrats:
Congrats on the new arrival! It's hilarious, you love these fish like they're children.. or maybe you love them MORE than children..
Awww:
He's a pretty guppy! You know, you should get a tank just for breeding little baby guppies! Get a couple of females, and then put them in the breeding tank when they're ready to pop, then take them back out. I had a fun time doing that with Platies and Mollies. They make cute little fishy babies. We have a three gallon tank that's not being used if ever sounds like fun. You seem to have a way with fish.
