Arthritic grading

Well, I officially have far more papers to grade than I can easily calculate mentally. My goal when I left here yesterday was to spend the whole day grading as much as possible, and I still plan on attempting that as soon as I finish messing with e-mails and clearing off enough of my desk to put them all. The reason why I’m only going to attempt doing this rather than succeed in doing this is because I have been having so many problems with my arthritis lately. I wanted to work on grading Monday, but my wrists and hands ached so much I couldn’t even stand the idea of marking papers up for a few hours. Yesterday evening, my knee started acting up so much that I had to walk up the stairs at half pace, stepping up with the right then dragging the left up so I could step up with the right all over again. The knee still hurts some, and while so far the wrists are okay, I won’t count on that lasting long. I took something for it this morning with my vitamin and applesauce, so maybe that’ll help. Luckily, my knee doesn’t grade papers. It just has to sit there. So here’s to a long day at the office ’cause I’m sure as hell not going to get up and go running all over campus today.

    Oh dear…:

Don't you have some grad student to grade those papers for you? Oh yeah, you are the grad student. Hope you feel better soon.
