So today’s my first day of class. My first class is in about an hour. I have the syllabus typed and copied and shoved in my tote. I don’t plan on doing much, just getting the syllabus to them, getting them to fill out little index cards and making sure they at least have a vague idea as to what’s going on. I’ve got a homework assignment for them: they have to e-mail me from their MyISU Portal accounts to let me know they can access them. Difficult, eh?
Then at two, I get to go through it all over again. I have a feeling I’m going to get bored hearing myself repeat the same stuff over again during the course of a day, but I’ll get used to it. In the spring, I’ll be teaching one section only again, so that will be a bit easier, especially since I shouldn’t be working on my thesis by that point.
Speaking of my thesis, since I don’t feel particularly like working on my Univ 101 stuff today, I think I’ll hop off this and go read a book or look up articles or something. I finally received the form with all the signatures from the committee and school on it approving the thesis yesterday. All the signatures were from July, the latest being July 22. I love University efficiency, don’t you? At any rate, time to get back to work, or at least to pretend I’m doing something back at work.
Congrats on your thesis acceptance!:
And fun being Professor Doyle again.
