Bad at math

Some time ago, I stopped keeping close track of my birthdays. In fact, I’ve gotten so lazy that whenever Ian has his birthday, I simply start telling people we’re the same age despite being nearly a whole nine months younger. The problem arises when I actually do have my birthday. Since I’ve been telling people all year that I’m thirty-one, now that I’m having a birthday, I want to Continue reading

Overlap

I’m torn. Since finishing my other book for NaNoWriMo, I thought I’d go back and work on one of the other two books in the Solennelle & O series because I’m still in the writing mood. The problem is that I’m not sure which one I want to work on. See, they overlap. Here’s a sort of timeline to try and explain it, but since I’m doing it off-the-cuff in a web browser, it isn’t going to Continue reading

Huh, really?

I hadn’t realized it has been so long since I updated the page. I’ve been at the computer a lot, but most of it has been working on my novel for NaNoWriMo. I finished the book, actually. It was on November 21 that I finished it. It’s a small book, but happily I was able to get just over fifty thousand words in it to meet the NaNoWriMo goal. In the end, I got 56,516 words. The crazy Continue reading

NaNo again this year!

Well, November is nearly here and that means National Novel Writing Month! This will be the third year I’ve participated, and hopefully another year that I’ll win. 🙂 The first year, I wrote most of my third book in my Solennelle & O series, and last year, I wrote half of the fourth book in the same series. I haven’t finished writing Book Four yet, so I don’t want to start on the fifth book in Continue reading

My monitor. :)

Buster’s monitor crapped out a little while ago, and I’ve been using Brinston (my netbook) almost exclusively. Still, Brin’s not the most powerful little guy, and I still wanted access to Buster. The solution? Ian hooked him up to the 32″ television, and I’m using a wireless trackball and long-corded keyboard to use the computer from the loveseat. Playing WoW on the television is interesting, and editing my books and reading webpages is likewise different. It’s strange not having to look at my lap since I’m not using the laptop as a laptop. A 32″ monitor is pretty sweet, if only I could get the resolution to reflect the size difference. Buster’s treating the TV like his usual 17″ screen, so the icons and stuff are huge. At any rate, I think I’m going to get back to my novels. There’s not much time until NaNoWriMo!

Midterm

My midterm exam is today. Apparently, the format is to download a document that has all the questions on it, type my responses into that document, then e-mail it to the professor. I guess this means that the exam will be short answer or essay. My computers better work properly tonight because I’m teaching a class on how to use the microfilm machines tomorrow at the library during Continue reading

Football

The husband and I talk about a lot of random things, and one thing we like to talk about a lot is politics. We were talking about how the current tea partiers are vastly different from those who originally started the idea forever ago. The tea partiers today are like people who say things like “our team lost so now I’m gonna root for this guy.” It got us talking about sports fanatics who do Continue reading
