Groggy

Week three of insomnia, not like this is altogether that unusual for someone who has never slept well her entire life. At least the slap-happiness keeps work interesting. 😉 I should go lie down, but I know I won’t really be tired for another hour at least, and even then, I’ll likely just lie there for a half an hour before a light doze takes me where anything will wake me in an instant and I’ll be too Continue reading

Spring things

Well, Spring is here, so that means enjoying the warmer weather (I hate the cold) and getting used to everything being green again (finally). I actually am not the biggest fan of Spring because the weather is inconsistent (thus my joints are consistently achy) and since the sun is just now out more, the SAD is off-kilter so I’m sporadically hyper. Regardless, I’m enjoying the sun and Continue reading

♣ Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ♣

Today is also the Republic of Ireland’s national holiday. 🙂 I got a bunch of fun St. Patrick’s Day stuff from Aunt Pamela and wore some of it to work today. I had made a bunch of shamrock and four-leaf-clover pins for my co-workers so that no one had to go without green as well. I think I saw more green in the library today both on patrons and staff than ever before. Hooray! My Continue reading

BAD DAY

Today started out normal enough…I guess. Come to think of it, I guess it wasn’t really that normal of a morning when I got up. Ian was sleeping on the futon rather than in the bedroom, which is odd, I suppose, but not unheard of. I got up kind of late but not too late since I knew I worked at nine. Before even getting out the door though, I had the fun of cleaning up Kitty vomit from the Continue reading

My kingdom for a translator

Cats, unlike dogs, can produce a wide variety of sounds comparable to the numerous sounds used in human speech. In fact, cats can produce more sounds than particular languages have in total. It’s fascinating (and science fiction) to think that perhaps cats have their own language. Maybe I’ve been watching too much SeaQuest DSV where they’ve created a program to Continue reading

Ammonia

There was a little more ammonia buildup in my fish tank than I liked. It was still technically within safe limits, but I would rather see it lower. So I picked up some ammonia remover tablets. Regardless of how safe fish tank chemicals say they are for fish, I know that doesn’t always mean they’re safe for invertebrates like Buì, my apple snail. I read and reread the box without gleaning Continue reading

Another tick!

Well, I found another tick late last night (or rather, early this morning after I went to bed sometime after two) except that this one wasn’t on me, it was on Kitty. I figured it’d be best to wait to try and do something about it until Ian was home from work (he had an early shift) so we could help each other hold the cat while one of us removed the tick. It was high on her side near Continue reading
