Champion!

After a week of a lot of Pokémon playing, I finally beat the Elite Four and the Champion (the final bosses of the game) and am now the Pokémon Champion in the Hall of Fame! For the one or two people who’ve played the game and will have any idea what I’m talking about, here’s the team I had when I beat the Elite Four (a couple leveled during the fighting partway through): Continue reading

WoW bug

This weekend was great getting to see the husband and the cat and getting to just bum around playing Animal Crossing: Wild World and Picross, but I also got a chance to play some WoW on the husband’s account, and now I’ve been bitten by the WoW bug, wanting to play again despite the dial-up connection I’d suffer through here at the house. Actually, I went ahead and Continue reading

Bye bye, DnD

I meant to post this yesterday or even Sunday, but I spent half of yesterday on campus and the other half playing AC:WW, so the post is today rather than yesterday. No biggie. At any rate, the point of the post is to say that DnD is more or less over with for now. Since I’m going to be moving to LGT and Ian will (hopefully) be getting a job where he’s gone most weekends and Continue reading

Our guild!

So the husband and I have been kicking around the idea of forming our own guild in WoW. One of the major reasons was so that we would no longer be pestered by overzealous guilds who invite everyone and everything in sight. When a character has a guild tag, that character can’t be invited to other guilds. A few of our characters had been in guilds, but they were either Continue reading

The Mad Lib

OK, I have pretty much all the nouns, verbs, etc. that I need, and I’ll fill in where I need more with some of the words my students used in their own French mad libs (translated into English, of course, though it would be funny to use them straight from French as well). The following is the beginning of the Bible, aka Genesis. Ian and I decided to use this rather than a passage from Continue reading

Mad Lib Update

OK, so I’ve got a bunch of words from Dad and Miller, and I’ve figured out how many of each type of word I still need. So I need 17 nouns, 9 verbs, 4 adjectives, 2 person’s names, 2 prepositions, 1 animal, and 1 number. I figure what I’ll do once I’ve got plenty is put them in at random and see how it turns up. So far just using Dad and Miller’s words is hilarious. I can’t wait Continue reading

Mad Lib

After much sleep and pain killers, I’m up and moving again. We’ll see how long this lasts once we start playing DnD tonight, but for now while I’m functional again, I wanted to play a game. This started with my 200-level French classes. I wanted a way to review all the major grammar points for the five chapters we covered this semester without having to do a long week of boring Continue reading

WoW

Well, the husband and I just went out and bought World of Warcraft. Damien, when he was up this past weekend, gave both of us trial accounts so we could play and get a feel for the game. Ian had played once already before using a trial account sent to him by Jer, I think. The graphics are really retarded in that nothing looks realistic and it’s all very cartoonish, a major downfall in my Continue reading

My ancestor!

I recently got this game called “And Then There Were None,” which is based off of Agatha Christie’s famous novel, and I just started playing it this evening because I couldn’t think of anything else to do, not having a harddrive in Brannagh to play EQ, and all. So I’m going along in the game picking up books on birds and sailing and sneaking into people’s rooms trying to get Continue reading

Sick and still playing

So my sinuses seem to have progressed into an outright cold. My head’s been aching for a couple days now regardless of what pill I pop. My ears have likewise been aching, most likely from all the nose-blowing and subsequent ear-popping. I just hope it’s not another ear infection; I used to get those all the damn time in high school, and I’d hate to have to go through all of that again. My Continue reading
