Tea time

I sometimes drink tea at work. Lately, it’s actually been most of the time at work. That means that I ran out of my pu erh sachets from Adagio because I drank them all. That left me with some mint tea and a few decaffeinated greens, not enough to keep me going all week long. So all afternoon at work and during crochet class (which is seriously starting to pick up again like crazy), I was Continue reading

Unconventional cook

I don’t cook much. Actually, aside from heating things up in the oven or microwave, I rarely cook at all, much to the husband’s dismay. There are, however, several dishes that I and I alone fix when the mood strikes such as spaetzle and lasagne and tartines. Anymore, I’ll get a craving for sauerkraut or German fries and that, of course, means bratwursts boiled in beer. That’s what was Continue reading

Published again!

It’s crazy, but I’ve published yet another book. 🙂 This one is the Zombie Cookbook that I started last fall. The text has been done for a few days now, and I’ve spent the weekend drawing pictures and having Ian edit them to put in the document. Mind you, I draw like crap, but the images are cartoony and supposed to look kind of stupid. Therefore, I guess it’s all right. Ian made the cover Continue reading

Easily distracted

Well, while I’ve had many things to post about, I have been too distracted by the many things going on to remember to post. I actually tried to post back on Thursday, but my phone is acting up and refused to send the picture and message. I was going to send a picture of a lot of little Valentine hearts I’d crocheted and mention I had a whopping fourteen people at the crochet class Continue reading

Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains

Well, despite some disappointing and unfruitful beginning searches, I now have a fair number of brain recipes for my cookbook. I have even discovered that there is a restaurant in Evansville that has quite a number of brain recipes on the menu. I was beginning to despair that I wouldn’t have enough recipes to make a decent-sized book, but through a lot of internet digging and cookbook Continue reading

Don’t eat what I eat

Actually, if you’re eating or planning on eating soon, don’t read this post yet. I have the odd tendancy to turn people’s stomachs with the descriptions of some of the foods I prepare. Not enirely sure why that is; I have no troulbe eating them, but I figured I’d warn the faint of stomach out there anyway. So! That warning being given, here’s what I’m having for lunch today.

Crowley Colby

Sometimes I like to do something special for the husband. He is, after all, the greatest person in the world, and the cutest on top of that. So since he has been putting up with me being unemployed and me making a mess of the living room in the name of organizing and cleaning, I decided he needed something a little different. Knowing my husband pretty well, I decided on Continue reading

Banana Splat

I don’t cook much. I’m sort of one of those “throw it in the microwave” or “throw it all in a bowl” and then eat it kind of person. Last night was one of those “throw it all in a bowl” nights. I had recently picked up a bunch of fruit (yay fruit!), and since we have ice cream, I decided on a sort of banana split. Now I’m not one of those freaks who puts nuts on ice cream, so my toppings Continue reading

Meat Meal & Misc.

For the most part, this post is about yesterday’s fun meal and movie with Damien, but I wanted to also throw some other random tidbits in about other random happenings. At any rate, the first bit of business is about food and fun. I was planning on grilling yesterday, but then realized that it would take way too much time and I wouldn’t be able to do the stuff I usually do on Sundays to Continue reading

Worthy of another attempt

So normally I warn people to stay away from my cooking, but today’s experiment was decent enough to warrant another try at making it (and thereby improving upon it). When I went shopping Sunday, I picked up pesto, tomatoes, and mushrooms for a chicken pasta dish I haven’t made in a while. While I was at it, I thought, “Hey, I’ll grab a baguette or something and some Continue reading
