I pulled the van around so it pointed at the tire (hence the light you see there despite it being after 10 at night) then gave Ian a flashlight I brought from home so he could see all the stuff in the trunk. Ian has a mini jack, tools, and a donut tire, so he screwed around with the tire while I huddled up in the van (left it off; didn't want to waste gas) watching him. I got out to help with a few things like backing the car up for him and giving him encouragement. The car's at home now, and we'll likely take it to get the tire fixed this afternoon or tomorrow.
?:
So what did you do?
Love, Dad
We fixed it:

Oh:
And as for what caused the flat: no idea. Ian has some thoughts on it, but we don't know for sure.
Cause:
Most likely cause would be bumping a curb. Something has to push the bead of the tire off the seal on the rim. Doesn't happen often.
