Back to school

I just finished signing up for an on-line course at Indiana State University. It’s a library science course called “School & Public Library Administration.” I would rather have taken one on material acquisition or cataloguing and cataloguing management. While I sometimes help out a little with what books to get, acquisitions isn’t really one of my responsibilities, and the odds of me getting to catalogue anything aren’t very good despite how much I love to catalogue. Therefore, the only logical classes to take would be on things like administration or media or what-have-you. This class on administration might help with some random things like running programs or the collection agency mess or whatever. Should be interesting. There’s still some time before the class officially begins, which is good because this week is tied up with getting ready for the Local Author Book Sale on Saturday. I’ve got stacks of books from half a dozen different authors sitting in the living room already and I expect at least two other authors to drop books off Friday. Then there will be another two or three authors dropping books by Saturday morning… Yeah, got a lot to keep track of.

Well, I’m gonna putz around on the ISU website and get reacquainted with the on-line course stuff. It’s great that they still had my old ID number and stuff so I don’t have to re-learn information like that. I’ve missed taking/teaching classes. I hope it’s a good semester.
